person for check-in. The registration table will be open
from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, 6/2/06. DUE TO HIGH

only. No “A” Travel Ball Teams are allowed at this

governmental bodies for any injury that may occur due to
their participation in our tournament.

7.
A
team may bat 9 batters (10 permitted in 8U ) per ASA rules
and may use the DP/Flex option, and report all changes to
the umpire, or may bat round robin with unlimited defensive
changes. A team that bats round robin must list all players
present at the time the lineup is provided to the umpire in
the batting order; no substitutes can be listed. Players
arriving late may not be added to the lineup if the team is
batting round robin. Substitutes, including players not
present at the beginning of the game, may be listed on a
lineup if the team bats 9 batters per ASA rules. Both teams
will declare their batting format to the umpire prior to the
start of the game. Once a format has been declared for a
game and lineups are exchanged, the teams may not change
their batting format for that game. Teams may change their
batting format from game to game and opposing teams do not
have to bat in the same format. If a team is using the
round robin format, and any player leaves the game for any
reason (e.g., injury, illness, ejection, etc.), an out
against that player will only be charged the first time the
player’s turn in the batting order is reached.
8. Courtesy
runners may be used for the pitcher and catcher only. If a
team bats 9 batters per ASA rules, the ASA courtesy runner
rules are in effect. If a team bats round robin, the
courtesy runner must be the last player to have been
declared “out” (either as a batter or as a baserunner). If
the last player to have been declared “out” is either the
pitcher or catcher, then the courtesy runner would be the
next player in the lineup to have been declared “out”.
9. During Pool
Play a 1 hour and 20 minute drop dead time limit will be
in effect, with a revert back as set forth in para. 10
below. For pool play, the International Tie-breaker rule
will be in effect after 7 innings only if time permits. The
Tie-breaker must be completed within the drop dead time
limit; otherwise, the game will remain tied.
10.
For
pool play, when time expires, the score will revert back to
the last completed inning, except as follows:
a) If the home team
is batting when time expires and is leading, the score
shall stand as-is when time expires,
b) If the home team
is batting when time expires and the score is tied, the
score shall revert back to the last completed inning, unless
the home team was trailing at the beginning of the inning
and has tied the score in their final at-bat, in which case
the game will remain tied.
11. During
Elimination Play no new inning is to start after 1 hour
and 30 minutes. There is no drop dead time limit
during elimination play and once an inning is started, it
will be played to completion. International Tie-breaker
applies after 7 complete innings or after the completion of
the last inning started within the 1 hour and 30 minute
rule, whichever is earlier.
12. Championship
games will be 7 innings with no time limit. Exception – 8 &
Under Division Championship game will be 6 innings
with no time limit.
13. ASA run ahead
rule will be in effect for all games:
15 runs ahead after 3 innings, or 8 runs ahead after 5
innings.
14. During Pool
Play, the 2nd team listed will occupy the 3rd
base dugout. During Elimination Round and Championship
play, the team listed on the bottom of the bracket will
occupy the 3rd base dugout. Exception: A
team playing back to back games on the same field will not
be required to change dugouts.
15. A coin toss by
the umpire prior to game start and in the presence of team
representatives will determine the home team. Team lineups
must be exchanged at the time of the coin toss. Any team
not ready to play at the scheduled game time shall lose by
forfeit (score recorded as 7-0). Exception: Teams
playing back to back games at different locations will be
afforded a grace period.
16. Official score sheets will be distributed prior to the
game. The Home Team will be responsible for keeping score on
the official score sheet. It is recommended that each team
provide their own scorekeeper, and that they check the score
between innings to avoid any controversy. Official score
sheets will be given to the umpires at the completion of the
game. Official scorekeepers are not responsible for
announcing "out of order" batters. Team managers and
umpires will be required to sign the official score sheets
upon completion of game.
17. Infield practice will not be permitted. Utilize foul
territory and grass areas.
18. Sliding is required in all divisions to avoid a
collision.

division will be ranked within their own pool according to
the following criteria:

equal to ½ Win & ½ Loss)

the Aliso Viejo facility.

the Elimination Round and Championship Play, all protests
will be finalized on the field by the home plate
umpire and a tournament representative. Protests shall be
governed by ASA Rule 9, Sections 1 through 4 and 7.

27. Managers and
coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players,
staff and fans on and off the field. Unruly behavior,
vandalism, unsportsmanlike conduct, destruction of property
or similar activities will not be tolerated. Any coach or
fan that is ejected from a game will be required to leave
the field and not be visible to the team or umpires for the
remainder of that game. A second ejection of anyone

for the remainder of the tournament. This rule will
be strictly enforced.
